Getting started

What does Video Overlay do?

It lets you load up to two motion clips and compare them — either stacked as a transparent overlay or side by side. You can sync the key moment, play both in slow motion from one shared timeline, step frame by frame, capture stills, and export the comparison to your photo library.

How do I load my videos?

Tap a video slot and pick a clip from your photo library. Do the same for the second slot. The first time, iOS will ask for permission to access your photos — that's what lets the app load the clips you choose. Your originals are never modified.

How do I line up two clips?

Switch to Overlay mode and tap Align, then tap the same two key points on each clip (for example, the lead foot and the head). Video Overlay scales and rotates the second clip to match. You can also fine-tune with the nudge buttons, or pinch, drag, and rotate the overlay by hand.

How do I play both in slow motion?

Press play and choose 0.25×, 0.5×, or 1×. Both clips run from one shared clock so they stay in sync. Turn on Loop to repeat the motion window automatically, and use the frame-step buttons to move one frame at a time.

How do I save or export a comparison?

Tap Save Video to render the current overlay or side-by-side view and save it to your photo library. Exporting is a Pro feature — see below.

Subscriptions & billing

What's free, and what needs Pro?

Comparing two videos, syncing, and previewing in slow motion are free. Pro unlocks exporting/saving comparisons, frame-by-frame stepping, still capture, loop-range export, and watermark-free output.

What does Pro cost?

Pro is $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year (auto-renewing subscriptions), or a one-time Lifetime purchase of $59.99. Monthly and Yearly include a 2-week free trial. Prices are in USD and may vary by region.

How does the free trial work?

Monthly and Yearly plans start with a 2-week free trial. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, the plan renews at the listed price. You can cancel during the trial at no charge.

How do I restore a purchase?

On the Pro screen, tap Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with, your access will be restored.

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your device go to Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions, choose Video Overlay, and cancel or change your plan. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period.

How do refunds work?

Purchases are handled by Apple, so refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Privacy & safety

Do my videos get uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens on your device. Video Overlay collects no personal data, has no accounts, and never uploads or transmits your videos. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my data?

Session settings live only on your device, so deleting the app removes everything Video Overlay has stored. Your original videos remain in your photo library, untouched.
